BACKGROUND

Daniel Thomas was born and raised in South London. His roots and first love in music lay in gospel, where he was brought up in a strict Pentecostal enviroment (his father a preacher.) He began playing the piano and singing at the age of 5 years old. By the time he was 10, he was singing in the church choir, of which he started directing and teaching at the age of 13. His love for gospel grew as he progressed through school and college, and as a songwriter would hold workshops all over the UK and the USA, as well as teaching in schools - St Martin In The Fields High School For Girls - who sang for the HRH Queen in January 1999, and Westwood High School and various other schools in the City of London.

He joined the London Community Gospel Choir in 1994 as a choir director and toured with the choir extensively around the world, including all of Europe, Japan and Africa, backing many artists on TV and live performances, also playing at venues such as Jazz Cafe, Smollenskys, Blue Note, Royal Albert Hall, St Pauls Cathedral, holding performances for Nelson Mandela, HRH Queen, Prince Charles, Branching out from his gospel roots he started collaborating with dance producers and other production companies, appearing as featured vocalist and vocal producer. In 1996 he starting touring with the 70's cover band Love Train.

For a short period he worked with the renowned group Working Week (Latin jazz band) when the group was resident at Ronnie Scotts.

The most profile gained to date is that of the Blockster project with DJ Brandon Block and producers M&S (Ricky Morrison and Fran Sidoli), achieving, most notably the top 3 hit in January 1999, the BeeGees cover of You Should Be Dancing. From this release he made many contacts in the music industry and began working as resident Vocal Producer and co-writer for Andy Whitmore of Greystoke Productions (Elton John, Peter Andre, Eternal. to name a few.) With this single he was able to tour all over the UK and Europe, in clubs and large festivals (Party In The Park) with many requests for his return. He has made numerous TV. Appearances and was also given the opportunity for some TV. Presenting with Josie D'arby and Lisa Rogers on the program Phone Zone, and with Jennifer Hughes on Alpha Zone.

In January 2002, he joined the cast of Godspell for a 6-month UK tour, singing the showstopper 'We Beseech Thee', receiving long-standing ovations each night.

In July 2002, he was musical and choir director for the Christian D'ior Fashion Show, Paris, directing 60-voice choir.

His voice is currently featured on a many jingles recorded with Juliet Roberts for N-Joy Radio, (Germany). Also recorded jingles for Kiss 100 FM and Choice FM radio stations (London).

He is currently working with Lyke China (signed to Platinum Acts Management - r'n'b girl group) and Evidence (r'n'b boy band - signed to New Vision Artists Management / Epic Records) and Warren Stacy (of Pop Stars fame) who is signed to Def jam - all as vocal coach. September 2002, he started as a vocal coach for the renowned TV show 'Pop Rivals'!
